Audi has announced a leadership restructuring for its China division, appointing Zhang Jun as the new president, effective November 1, 2026. This marks the first time a Chinese national will hold the position of president for Audi China. The company is simplifying its management committee structure, which will now be co-led by Zhang Jun and Rolf Michl.
Rolf Michl, currently the managing director of Audi Sport, will transition to the role of Chief Operating Officer for Audi China on November 1, 2026. Meanwhile, Rouven Mohr, a member of the AUDI AG management board for technical development, will temporarily take over the leadership of Audi Sport. The current president of Audi China, Johannes Roscheck, is returning to the company's headquarters in Germany.
Zhang Jun brings over 20 years of international management experience to the role. He previously served as vice president and CEO of Chery International and led European operations for the company. His background also includes a tenure as managing director at Stellantis, where he oversaw Alfa Romeo and DS Automobiles in China, as well as leadership roles at Nissan in Japan and North America.
Between 2018 and 2020, Zhang Jun held senior management positions at Audi China, where he was responsible for building the sales team for SAIC-Audi and participating in strategic projects for FAW-Audi. Rolf Michl has led Audi Sport since September 2022, overseeing high-performance RS models and the Audi exclusive personalization program.
