The new THE 800XL, designed by Retro Games Ltd. and manufactured by PLAION REPLAI under Atari license, is now available for pre-order. The device is priced at $219.99, with shipping scheduled to begin on April 23, 2027.
The console features a 57-key mechanical keyboard and maintains the original low-profile design. It includes a functional cartridge slot, HDMI output with 4:3 aspect ratio support, and CRT display filters. The system supports both 50Hz PAL and 60Hz NTSC modes.
Connectivity options include four USB-A ports for controllers and storage, alongside a USB-C power input. The package comes with an HDMI cable, a USB-C power cable, and the updated THECXSTICK controller, which features eight function buttons.
The device comes pre-loaded with 25 classic games. Additionally, it includes the Atari BASIC programming environment, allowing users to write, save, and execute their own software, mirroring the functionality of the original 1983 model.
