ASUS has released an urgent firmware update for its Wi-Fi 7 router series to resolve a critical security vulnerability. The flaw, identified in the 3.0.0.6_102 firmware version, allows an unauthenticated attacker on an adjacent network to bypass security protocols and obtain full administrative control.
The company advises users to install the patch immediately. Updates are available through the router's web administration portal or via the official ASUS support website. For those unable to update right away, the manufacturer suggests disabling remote access from the WAN and restricting management to local devices.
Additional security measures recommended by ASUS include setting strong, unique passwords for both the administrator account and Wi-Fi network. Users should also monitor for unauthorized devices, clear unrecognized sessions from companion applications, and perform a full system reboot after applying the firmware update.
