ASUS has officially launched the ROG XG Station 3, an open-frame external graphics dock featuring Thunderbolt 5 connectivity. The device was initially showcased at COMPUTEX 2025 in May. It is designed to enhance the gaming and professional performance of laptops without compromising portability.
The dock features a polished metal finish with a streamlined design and supports ASUS AURA SYNC lighting. Its open-frame architecture ensures unobstructed airflow for cooling. For power, it supports standard PCIe cables or the GC-HPWR connector for BTF back-plug graphics cards.
The unit measures 324.6 by 173.0 by 104.7 millimeters. ASUS recommends using an SFX or SFX-L power supply with a rating of 750W or higher and 80 PLUS Gold certification. The Thunderbolt 5 interface provides 80Gbps bandwidth and 140W of reverse power delivery.
The ROG XG Station 3 functions as a plug-and-play solution for laptops equipped with Thunderbolt 5 ports, enabling high-performance gaming and rendering tasks. Additionally, the front panel includes two USB 10Gbps Type-C ports for expanded connectivity.
