Astra Group has launched a new IT laboratory at the Irkutsk National Research Technical University (IRNITU). The project aims to provide practical training for students and faculty on Russian software products, including the Astra Linux operating system, the ALDPro directory service, and the RuPost mail server.
The laboratory is equipped with 21 workstations where users can create virtual infrastructure using built-in tools and VMmanager. The facility is expected to train approximately 120 students annually from the computer science and information security departments.
The partnership between Astra Group and IRNITU began in 2018. In 2023, the university joined the Astra Linux Academy project, gaining the right to certify students. The university also functions as an authorized training center, offering commercial courses and free training for faculty members.
To date, 307 students and 36 commercial trainees have passed certification exams on Astra Linux administration at the university. The new laboratory will focus on training specialists in operating systems, network technologies, and cybersecurity.
