Arthur Hayes, CEO of Flop Labs, argues that the traditional model of high-FDV, low-float token launches is no longer effective on Binance. He claims that venture capital presales have historically disadvantaged retail investors by incentivizing early backers to sell their tokens for profit.

At the TOKEN2049 Singapore event on October 7, 2026, Hayes introduced a 100% fair launch model for Flop Labs. This approach eliminates presales and VC allocations, relying instead on airdrops for users who contribute to the network through testnet participation.

The project plans to distribute approximately 24.3% of the projected 10-year supply, totaling 4.4 billion out of 18.1 billion tokens, via a genesis airdrop. This distribution is scheduled to begin in late October or early November 2026 and will last for 90 days.

Flop Labs is funded by Hayes' personal capital to avoid VC involvement. The company aims to create a utility token linked to computational tasks for software agents, with a mainnet genesis planned for the first quarter of 2027.

Hayes warned investors to avoid scams offering early access to FLOP tokens, as they are not currently tradable. The token will only become available for trading following the completion of the scheduled airdrop.
