Apple is currently testing prototype versions of its iMac and MacBook Pro computers equipped with OLED displays. This development indicates the company's intention to integrate OLED technology into its mainstream computer lineup, although a specific release schedule for these devices remains unconfirmed.
In the immediate future, Apple plans to introduce an updated iMac model within the coming days, though this version will not feature an OLED panel. Furthermore, the upcoming MacBook Air is anticipated to launch in early 2027, also without the inclusion of OLED display technology.
Industry reports regarding the adoption of OLED screens for these product lines have varied significantly over time. Previous supply chain projections suggested a 24-inch OLED iMac could arrive in 2027, while subsequent reports pushed that timeline to 2029. Similarly, analyst Ming-Chi Kuo has noted that the release of an OLED MacBook Air may be delayed until 2029.
