Apple has launched its new Mac Studio computers, featuring the M5 Max and M5 Ultra chips, across 30 countries and regions. The devices are now available for purchase, with many Apple Store locations offering same-day pickup.

The Verge tested a $12 299 configuration with a 36-core CPU, 80-core GPU, 256 GB of RAM, and a 4 TB SSD. Benchmarks showed the M5 Ultra model is approximately 30 percent faster than the M3 Ultra version in CPU tasks and 63 percent faster in GPU rendering.

Engadget reviewed a version with a 2 TB SSD priced at $11 299, noting a price increase of over 50 percent compared to the previous M3 Ultra generation. Reviewers suggest the M5 Max is sufficient for most users, while the M5 Ultra is tailored for those prioritizing speed over cost.

Pricing for the new lineup starts at $2 499 for the M5 Max model and $5 499 for the M5 Ultra. The current maximum configuration costs $18 299. Apple has not yet opened orders for a future version that will feature 512 GB of RAM.
