Apple has updated the registration for its iPhone Duo foldable device, model A3721, in China. The device received a trial license on September 2, followed by a certificate update on September 29 that includes specific generative AI model filings.
The filings confirm the integration of Apple Intelligence, which was officially registered by Apple Technology (Shanghai) Co., Ltd. on July 8, 2026. Additionally, Alibaba's Tongyi Wanxiang and Tongyi Qianwen models will be integrated into the Apple Intelligence suite for Chinese users.
This integration allows users to access Alibaba's text and image processing capabilities directly within iOS, iPadOS, macOS, and visionOS without switching applications. The feature set aims to provide native AI experiences across the Apple ecosystem in the region.
The iPhone Duo is Apple's first foldable smartphone. Pre-orders for the Chinese market are scheduled to begin on October 16 at 8:00 PM, with the official retail launch set for October 23. The starting price for the device is ¥15 999.
