Apple is reportedly developing enterprise-grade servers powered by its M8 Ultra processors. According to The Information, the company aims to offer these systems to AI developers, corporations, and government agencies rather than limiting them to internal use.
The project, which has been in development for approximately one year, has the backing of Apple CEO John Ternus. The company is exploring two server configurations: a compact model featuring two M8 Ultra chips and a larger version equipped with four processors.
To facilitate high-speed communication between the chips, Apple is considering integrating Nvidia NVLink Fusion technology, including switches, chiplets, and specialized software for data centers. These plans remain subject to change.
If Apple moves forward with the commercial release of this hardware, the servers are not expected to reach the market before 2029.
