Apple has launched the beta version of its revamped Siri AI, currently available in English. The company intends to broaden language support to include French, Japanese, Korean, Portuguese, and Spanish starting in October.
The updated assistant is integrated with Apple Intelligence, allowing it to retrieve information from messages, emails, and photos. New capabilities include web searching, follow-up question support, and image generation via the Image Playground tool.
Apple maintains that its control over hardware, operating systems, and user data provides a competitive advantage in AI deployment. The company emphasizes its focus on privacy and security as core components of its strategy.
Despite the rollout, these features remain unavailable in the European Union and China. Apple cited regulatory requirements and ongoing discussions regarding privacy safeguards as the primary reasons for these regional restrictions.
