On October 15, Chinese Minister of Commerce Wang Wentao met with Apple CEO Tim Cook to discuss China-US economic relations, the development of artificial intelligence, and Apple's operations within China. The meeting focused on fostering stable bilateral trade and exploring opportunities for multinational corporations in the Chinese market.

During the discussions, Wang Wentao emphasized China's commitment to high-level opening-up and the optimization of the business environment. He expressed hope that Apple would continue to deepen its presence in China and contribute to the stability of bilateral economic ties, particularly as the country promotes smart, green, and innovative industrial transformation.

Tim Cook confirmed that Apple remains optimistic about China's development prospects and intends to further expand its business operations in the country. He reiterated the company's willingness to play a constructive role in maintaining healthy and stable economic relations between the United States and China.

In a separate statement, Cook announced that the Apple Intelligence suite, including integration with Alibaba's Qwen model, has received regulatory approval. A test version is scheduled for release to Chinese users later in October.

The initial rollout will feature tools such as real-time translation, writing assistance, and photo cleanup. However, the company clarified that the AI-powered Siri features will not be included in this initial release phase.
