Anthropic has expanded its partnership with the General Services Administration (GSA) under the OneGov strategy. As of October 27, 2026, federal, state, local, and tribal government agencies can access all Claude models with a 40% discount on token usage.

The new agreement replaces a previous flat-fee structure with a consumption-based model. Agencies now pay based on actual token usage, with no minimum order requirements. The deal includes access to authorized government environments, including those requiring FedRAMP compliance for sensitive work.

This initiative follows an earlier arrangement from August 2025, which provided access to Claude for a nominal fee of $1 per user or agency. That program is set to expire on October 31, 2026.

The GSA's OneGov strategy has reportedly saved the federal government more than $1,8 billion, with approximately $1,6 billion of those savings attributed to AI-related contracts. The agency is also working with other providers, including OpenAI, which secured a 50% discount deal in September 2026 that runs through December 2028.
