Anthropic has detailed collaborations with six organizations utilizing its Claude AI and Claude Science workbench for drug development. Partners include BigHat Biosciences, Bristol Myers Squibb, Divergence Labs, Enveda, Generate Biomedicines, and The Column Group.

Projects cover various stages of the drug pipeline, primarily focusing on early phases and regulatory documentation. Generate Biomedicines used Claude to shorten genetic instructions for CAR-T therapy by approximately 70%, while Divergence Labs generated around 35,000 antibody designs.

BigHat Biosciences reported over 10x tighter binding using the technology, and Enveda achieved an 89% reduction in documentation time. Bristol Myers Squibb has been using the model for clinical trial planning since May 2026.

Anthropic also acquired Mithril Medicine in 2026 to launch its own preclinical programs, which currently focus on rare childhood muscular dystrophies. Additionally, Novo Nordisk announced a partnership with Anthropic on September 16, 2026, to enhance its R&D workflows.

The company's recent IPO filing highlights its strategic focus on the life sciences sector. By showcasing a portfolio of pharmaceutical partners and internal drug programs, Anthropic aims to demonstrate revenue potential beyond its standard chatbot and coding applications.
