Anthropic is merging its Cowork and chat features into a unified platform. This update allows users to transition between simple queries and complex tasks without switching workspaces. The rollout begins today for Pro and Max subscribers on web, desktop, and mobile, with Team and Free plans to follow.
The company introduced Claude Docs and Claude Slides in beta for paid users, alongside the integration of Claude Design into conversations. Users can generate, edit, and present documents or presentations directly within the app. Files can be exported as PDF or PowerPoint, and shared via links for mobile editing.
The assistant now autonomously determines task requirements, utilizing Cowork capabilities while maintaining project context and connectors. Claude can continue processing tasks after a user closes their device, and supports scheduling for recurring reports. Users can adjust the assistant's level of autonomy.
Existing Cowork data, including projects and artifacts, will be migrated into the unified interface. Enterprise customers retain administrative control over the deployment of the new features, allowing administrators to manage the availability of Docs, Slides, and Design tools for their teams.
