Anthropic is merging the Claude chat interface with the Cowork frontend to streamline user workflows. This update eliminates the need for manual navigation between different functional tabs by consolidating chat, Cowork, and Artifacts into a single workspace.

The updated platform now integrates Claude Design, a tool for web and prototype development introduced in April, allowing users to invoke it directly from any location within the interface. The system automatically routes user requests to the appropriate modules based on the task requirements.

New features enable users to create, edit, and present slide decks directly through the AI assistant. These presentations can be exported as PDF or PowerPoint files. Additionally, the new Docs functionality supports collaborative writing, allowing users to add sections, ask questions, and leave annotations.

Users can share generated documents and slides via links and continue editing them on mobile devices. The platform supports cross-device synchronization, enabling users to start a document on a desktop and track progress or continue work through the mobile application.

These features will be rolled out over the coming weeks, starting with Claude Pro and Max subscribers on web, desktop, and mobile platforms. Anthropic plans to extend access to free and team users in the future. The update follows a recent upgrade to the Cowork memory layer, which improves context retention across sessions.
