Anthropic is merging its Claude product line into a unified interface, eliminating the standalone Claude Cowork entry point. The system will now automatically determine whether a task requires standard chat responses or advanced collaborative capabilities based on user input. This update aims to resolve user confusion regarding task allocation and the friction caused by switching between different workspaces.
The rollout begins with Pro and Max subscribers, with availability expanding to web, desktop, and mobile platforms over the coming weeks. Free and Team plan users will gain access in subsequent phases. Claude will now handle complex, long-running tasks in the background, allowing users to receive results even after closing their devices.
New features integrated into the main interface include Claude Docs for collaborative document creation and Claude Slides for generating presentations. Users can request slides that are editable, presentable online, or exportable to PowerPoint and PDF formats. Additionally, the previously standalone Claude Design tool is now accessible directly within any chat session.
All generated documents, presentations, and designs will feature unified links for cross-device access. Users can manage these assets via mobile devices or request further AI-driven modifications. Anthropic intends for this consolidation to position Claude as a comprehensive digital colleague capable of research, writing, design, and project execution.
