Andreessen Horowitz (a16z) has secured the top position in the 2026 Strebulaev-Jackson AI Venture Ranking, achieving a score of 22,509 points. The list evaluates US-based venture capital firms specifically for their investments in the artificial intelligence sector.

Lightspeed Venture Partners followed in second place with 14,422 points, while Menlo Ventures ranked third with 13,464 points. The gap between the first and second positions stands at 8,087 points, whereas the difference between the second and third place is 958 points.

The ranking, developed by Stanford GSB professor Ilya Strebulaev and Blake Jackson, relies on data collected through August 31, 2026. The methodology accounts for value creation, investment dilution, and the strategic influence of firms within their portfolio companies.

The analysis draws from a dataset encompassing over 230,000 investments made by nearly 13,000 venture capitalists. A separate ranking focusing on individual AI investors is expected to be released in the coming week.
