A Reddit user reported receiving Intel Core i3 processors instead of the ordered AMD Ryzen 7 9850X3D twice while shopping on Amazon. The initial order included an MSI MAG X870E Carbon motherboard, and the CPU was sold and shipped directly by Amazon.

Upon inspection, the first package showed signs of tampering at the bottom, despite the top seal appearing intact. The user returned the item and placed a second order for the same CPU model. The second delivery contained an Intel Core i3-3220, a model from 2012, and also showed signs of unauthorized opening.

Both packages featured LPN stickers, which Amazon uses to track returned goods within its logistics network. This suggests the items were previously returned by other customers. The incident indicates a potential failure in Amazon's inspection process for returned inventory, allowing tampered goods to re-enter the sales cycle.

Amazon is currently processing a refund for the user. The case highlights risks associated with purchasing high-end hardware that may have been previously handled and returned through the retailer's logistics system.
