Amazon has launched its annual seasonal recruitment campaign, aiming to hire 300,000 workers for the upcoming holiday period. This target represents an increase of 50,000 positions compared to the 250,000 employees the company sought to recruit during the previous year.
Starting January 1, 2027, seasonal staff working at least 30 hours per week will receive health insurance coverage from their first day of employment. This benefit applies to all qualifying seasonal roles, regardless of the time of year they join the company.
The company is also introducing a program titled Day 1 Financial. This initiative provides eligible employees and their families with access to banking services through the First Tech Federal Credit Union, offering a membership that remains valid for life.
Amazon is actively recruiting for seasonal, part-time, and full-time positions, with new job openings expected to be posted weekly through December. The average hourly wage for seasonal workers is $20, with opportunities to transition into full-time roles.
Full-time operations staff earn a minimum of $20 per hour, with average hourly pay reaching approximately $24, excluding additional benefits. These figures contrast with other industry players, such as UPS, which plans to hire 100,000 seasonal workers.
