Amazon and WiWynn Corporation are expanding their server rack and data center manufacturing facility in Socorro, Texas. The total cumulative investment in the site is now projected to exceed $1.6 billion to increase the domestic production of infrastructure for cloud computing and AI workloads.

The project's financial trajectory has scaled rapidly. WiWynn initially invested $152 million in 2025, creating 514 jobs. This was followed by an additional $275 million commitment in August 2026, leading up to the current expansion plans that push the total investment over $1.6 billion.

The expansion is expected to create nearly 1,000 new advanced manufacturing jobs by the end of 2027, with total employment at the site projected to exceed 2,500 people. Eventually, the facility is expected to reach a full-capacity staffing level of approximately 4,000 workers.

WiWynn, a subsidiary of Wistron Group, designs and supplies high-performance servers for hyperscale data centers. Its clients include Amazon Web Services, Meta, Microsoft, and Google. The company previously operated mainly in Taiwan, Mexico, and Malaysia, but is moving into the US market to meet AI hardware demand and mitigate tariff risks.
