Amazon has introduced a new AI-powered lip-syncing feature for its Prime Video streaming service. The technology adjusts the actor's mouth movements in post-production to match the dubbed audio track, ensuring visual consistency across different languages.
The feature is currently available for the English-dubbed version of the German series Maxton Hall: The World Between Us. Users can access this functionality for both the first and second seasons, with support for the third season arriving on December 9.
This launch follows a series of tests conducted by Amazon last year. The company previously experimented with AI-assisted dubbing in English and Spanish for 12 titles, including titles such as El Cid, My Mom's Parrot, and The Reunion.
Amazon's implementation combines artificial intelligence with visual effects to align speech with translated dialogue. Similar lip-syncing options have recently been introduced by other platforms, including Meta and YouTube, to assist content creators.
