The QwenBook device is currently under development by the Wuying team at Alibaba Cloud. Positioned as a native AI agent computer, the hardware features a tablet form factor paired with a keyboard and trackpad, mimicking a laptop experience. The device includes a Type-C port for docking stations and a large trackpad on the keyboard unit.

The operating system interface resembles macOS, featuring a dock for applications and adjustable window layouts. Integrated software includes Alibaba services such as DingTalk and Alibaba Cloud Drive, alongside WPS Office, which is being developed through a partnership with Kingsoft. The system also supports native tools like system-level recording, Wiki, smart folders, and proprietary email.

The rear of the tablet houses a dual-camera module and a circular secondary display capable of showing animated characters. The keyboard layout is designed to support both Windows and macOS configurations and includes a dedicated Qwen key for AI interaction. The device also features proprietary memory management and knowledge base applications.

While a prototype was showcased at the 2026 Yunqi Conference, the company notes that this version is intended to demonstrate the product concept rather than represent the final hardware. The team expects to release the complete version of the QwenBook by the end of this year or early next year.
