The AIGC-produced drama series 'Hou Xiyouji' has launched its new season, titled 'Zhan Tiangong', starting October 4. The episodes are available on Hunan Satellite TV and Mango TV, with a release on the 'Ju Haokan' platform scheduled for October 9.
The series is based on a classic novel from the Ming and Qing dynasties and follows the story of the 'second generation' of pilgrims. The first season consists of 30 episodes, each 40 minutes long. The narrative centers on Sun Xiaosheng, a new stone monkey, who embarks on a journey to recover lost scriptures alongside his companions.
The first part of the season, 'Huaguoshan', premiered on August 31 and consisted of 5 episodes. It achieved the highest real-time viewership ratings among provincial satellite channels during its broadcast slot.
This project is the first drama to utilize the 'review while broadcasting' model following the release of the 'Radio and Television 21 Articles' policy. This approach allows the production team to adjust plot details based on regulatory feedback and audience reactions while shortening the production cycle.
