A developer known as Uzbekunknown has successfully ported NVIDIA DLSS 5 neural rendering to Intel Arc 140V integrated graphics. The project, titled dlss-nr-on-intel, utilizes a reimplementation of the 71-block network, which executes on Intel XMX units via the Vulkan API. The implementation currently supports Linux and requires users to provide their own NVIDIA DLL file.
The developer tested the port in Tekken 7, Dead or Alive 5 Last Round, and Mortal Kombat 1. Performance remains limited, with Tekken 7 achieving approximately 10 FPS at a resolution of 640x360. Due to significant frame time issues, the creator classifies this as a research project rather than a consumer-ready product, noting its current utility is restricted to photo modes.
The development process relied heavily on artificial intelligence. The creator reports that the code was written almost entirely by Claude Opus 5 and OpenAI Astra. The developer provided the hardware, binaries, and project direction, though they noted that an AI-hallucinated driver bug influenced three distinct phases of the development cycle.
