The Fintech Association (AFT) has introduced the AI Digital Index, a framework for assessing the maturity of AI-driven corporate architecture in financial organizations. Developed with the support of OTP Bank and approved by the AFT Council of Architects, the methodology categorizes maturity into three cumulative levels: Resilient Architecture, Observable & Adaptive Architecture, and Self-Healing & Self-Scaling AI Architecture.

The assessment consists of two parts. The quantitative component involves calculating an index based on business results, technological foundation, and deployment speed, with scores ranging from 0 to 100. The qualitative component requires completing a checklist across 19 domains grouped into five layers, including business processes, data, and security.

The framework mandates specific performance metrics. For instance, at the first level, data must be available by the next day, while the third level requires data access within 15 minutes for critical scenarios. AI adoption must cover at least 10% of applicable processes at the first level, rising to 70% at the third level.

OTP Bank tested the methodology internally, where it also developed an AI agent to identify process inefficiencies. The bank reported that using AI for resume processing reduced recruitment time by 60–70% and doubled the speed of filling vacancies. Organizations use the index to create heat maps and development roadmaps, categorizing domains as areas of focus or support.
