Aeroflot has signed a major agreement to acquire 90 MC-21-310 medium-haul aircraft. The contract, involving the United Aircraft Corporation, Aviacapital-Service, and the United Engine Corporation, covers deliveries scheduled between 2029 and 2032.
This deal includes comprehensive support, such as flight simulators, training for flight and technical personnel, software, and 22 years of after-sales maintenance for the entire fleet. The manufacturer and service providers are responsible for ensuring technical availability.
In addition to the new order, Aeroflot expects 18 MC-21 units under a separate 2023 agreement, bringing the total fleet expansion to 108 aircraft. The first 18 planes are slated for delivery between 2027 and 2028.
The MC-21-310 model features the Russian PD-14 engine and domestic composite materials for the wing and tail. Since 2025, the aircraft has been undergoing testing with Russian-made avionics, hydraulic systems, and power supply units.
Currently, 17 aircraft are in various stages of production in Irkutsk. According to the Ministry of Industry and Trade, the final certification of the MC-21 is expected to be completed by 2027.
