In late July, the Office of the National Quality Power Construction Coordination and Promotion Leading Group launched its first quality inspection campaign. Inspectors visited Zhejiang, Guangdong, Jiangsu, and Shandong, uncovering regulatory gaps in the small commodity and lighting industries.
In Zhongshan, Guangdong, inspectors found businesses selling products labeled with CCC marks that lacked valid certificates. At the Guzhen Yihu Lighting Processing Store, 27 boxes of eye-protection classroom lamps were identified as 'three-no' products, lacking manufacturer names, addresses, and valid certification.
Inspectors also discovered 11 boxes of LED flat panel lights with fake manufacturer names. At Guangdong Yixun Lighting Co., Ltd., production continued despite the company's CCC certificate having been revoked. Local authorities subsequently tested 19 batches of the company's products, finding 18 batches totaling 1,430 items to be non-compliant.
The local government has initiated investigations into all involved entities and launched a crackdown on lighting product quality. The national inspection team identified 153 issues across various sectors, including the production of substandard safety helmets in Jinhua and material management issues in Weifang.
