Following a test by Dongchedi where three Maextro V800 vehicles experienced brake pedal bracket failures, several automotive executives shared details about their own braking systems. Among them was Zheng Yu, assistant general manager and marketing head at BYD's Yangwang brand.

In a video, Zheng Yu demonstrated that the brake pedal assemblies for the Yangwang U8, U8L, and U7 models are constructed entirely from metal. He stated that Yangwang adheres to an internal corporate standard of 2500N for pedal force, exceeding the national standards of 1500N and 2000N.

Industry observers noted that the timing of the post, coinciding with public scrutiny of the Maextro V800, could be interpreted as disparaging a competitor. This behavior contradicts the explicit policy of BYD founder Wang Chuanfu, who has previously stated that the company prohibits criticizing rivals.
