Yandex reported that user funds within the Yandex Pay service remain secure despite damage to a data center in Vladimir caused by a drone attack. The company confirmed that account records were not compromised, as they are stored in multiple copies across various locations.

The company clarified that the data center housed servers supporting service operations rather than the funds themselves. While integrity checks confirmed no data loss, some users continue to experience issues accessing the application as infrastructure restoration efforts remain ongoing.

The drone attack occurred on the night of October 11, leading to a complete shutdown of the facility. This incident caused service disruptions for users across Russia, Kazakhstan, and Kyrgyzstan. Yandex announced a gradual recovery of its services starting at 16:57 on the same day.

Prior to the full shutdown, Yandex Cloud reported power supply issues in one of its zones around 4:00 Moscow time, which triggered initial service failures. This event follows previous drone attacks that have impacted two other Yandex data centers.
