Yandex engineers have restored core functionality for the Alice AI assistant, smart speakers, YaOS-powered televisions, and Yandex Cloud services. While many features are back online, some remain unavailable or operate with limitations as recovery efforts continue.
The Alice AI assistant now supports the Expert mode, text and image generation, file processing, and the updated Studio interface. Smart home management is fully operational, and smart speakers and TVs have regained access to alarms, timers, weather forecasts, and media playback.
Certain features, including smart speaker calls and multi-device music synchronization, remain unstable. Issues persist with the baby monitor function, fairy tales, and karaoke modes on TVs. Partner smart home devices may also experience intermittent connectivity.
Yandex Cloud has restored several corporate services following a series of three cyberattacks on the company's data centers last week. These incidents caused widespread outages across Yandex and other major Russian web services.
To mitigate the impact, Yandex partnered with Selectel, K2Cloud, and VK Cloud to accelerate the migration of client resources to external infrastructure. Additionally, the company has made its cloud services free of charge until the end of October.
