Yandex Music has updated its content policy regarding tracks generated with artificial intelligence. The platform has introduced specific labels for AI-assisted music and a new recommendation setting called Less AI, which allows users to reduce the frequency of such tracks in their personalized feeds.
The service identifies AI content based on information provided by rights holders, user reports, and its own internal detection system. Depending on the findings, track descriptions may display labels indicating full or partial AI usage, or a warning about potential AI involvement if the system detects a high probability of its application.
According to internal data, AI-generated tracks account for approximately 4.4 percent of the total catalog, while their share among new releases reaches about 27 percent. The company notes that the majority of these compositions currently do not receive a significant number of streams.
The new rules also prohibit specific practices regardless of AI usage. These include the mass publication of repetitive tracks, search and recommendation manipulation, unauthorized voice cloning of famous artists, and the distribution of artificially sped-up or slowed-down versions of songs.
