Yandex Maps has updated its panoramic imagery for Tashkent and Samarkand, allowing users to preview city streets and plan routes. To capture the new data, the company's mapping vehicles covered 3,400 kilometers in Tashkent and 1,650 kilometers in Samarkand, resulting in approximately 130,000 and 63,000 new panoramas respectively.
The update covers major landmarks and streets, including Amir Temur Avenue in Tashkent and the Registan Street area in Samarkand. Users can access these views by selecting the 'Panoramas' layer in the mobile application, where blue lines indicate available paths for virtual exploration.
In addition to street-level imagery, Yandex has introduced indoor navigation for international airports in both cities. The feature assists users in finding boarding gates, shops, and restaurants by accounting for multiple floors, elevators, escalators, and stairs.
Indoor routing is now available for several major shopping centers. In Tashkent, this includes Tashkent City Mall, Samarkand Darvoza, Riviera Mall, Compass, and Atlas Chimgan. In Samarkand, the service covers Family Park, Makon Mall, and M. Baraka.
