Xiaomi has unveiled the Mijia Shoe Washer 3KG, a compact appliance specifically designed for cleaning footwear. The device is scheduled to launch on the Youpin crowdfunding platform on November 2. During the initial fundraising period, the machine will be available for ¥800 ($120), while the final retail price is set at ¥1300 ($195).
The washer occupies 0.18 square meters, allowing for flexible placement in small areas like balconies or utility closets. It uses a high-speed impeller to clean the upper, sole, and inner lining of various footwear, including sneakers and sandals. A single cycle accommodates between two and four pairs of shoes, and users do not need to remove the laces before washing.
The device offers eight distinct programs, such as standard, intensive, and quick wash, as well as spin-only and drum cleaning modes. It features a 24-hour delay timer and a 20-minute express cycle. According to company testing, the machine eliminates 99% of Trichophyton rubrum, 99.8% of E. coli, and 99.6% of Staphylococcus aureus, with a dedicated self-cleaning cycle to maintain hygiene.
