Xiaomi has officially launched the Door and Window Sensor 3 on JD.com, priced at ¥49. The device is designed to monitor the status of doors, windows, drawers, and cabinets for smart home security and automation purposes.
The new model features a tunnel magnetoresistance sensor, which the company claims offers faster response times and lower power consumption compared to the traditional Hall effect sensors used in the previous generation.
The sensor is powered by a CR2032 button battery, providing a battery life of up to 3 years. Users can receive low-battery notifications through the Mi Home app. The device requires a Bluetooth Mesh gateway to function.
While the third generation focuses on extended battery life and detailed activity tracking, including open/close duration and frequency statistics, it does not include the light sensor found in the second-generation model.
