Xiaomi has unveiled the Mijia Smart Dual-Control Clothes Dryer 2, a ceiling-mounted unit that hides behind an integrated light fixture when retracted. The device features a slim 7 cm profile and will launch on the Xiaomi Youpin crowdfunding platform on September 21. The initial price is set at ¥1 400, which is approximately $210.
The dryer utilizes two independent motors to control its folding rods, allowing users to adjust each side separately. With a 114 cm gap between the rods, the design improves airflow for drying. The system includes extendable sections that increase capacity by 73.6%, supporting a maximum load of 40 kg, a 14.3% increase compared to the previous version.
The unit features a 49.8-inch frameless light with a 50 W power output and a 3000 lm luminous flux. Users can adjust brightness and color temperature from 2700 K to 5700 K via the Mijia app. The dryer integrates with the Xiaomi smart home ecosystem, enabling automated tasks such as lowering the rods once a washing machine cycle finishes.
