Xiaomi has introduced a lifetime warranty for the first buyers of its Skynomad N90 and N70 hybrid vehicles, which will go on sale tomorrow. This coverage applies specifically to vehicles equipped with the new Dragonscale (Longjia) battery family, developed in collaboration with CALB and Sunwoda.
To qualify for the lifetime warranty, owners must use the company's proprietary cloud service for telemetry and undergo regular maintenance at official service centers. The warranty covers losses from spontaneous combustion caused by manufacturing defects, in which case Xiaomi will replace the burned vehicle with a new one of identical specifications and configuration.
In cases of fire resulting from collisions or underbody damage to the battery, Xiaomi will pay the difference between the insurance payout and the cost of a new car. However, this warranty does not apply to vehicles used for commercial purposes, such as taxis or car-sharing services, nor does it transfer to second-hand owners during resale.
