A new Xiaomi smartphone model, identified as M261DB, received radio certification from the Ministry of Industry and Information Technology on September 23. The device is expected to be the standard version of the Xiaomi 18 series.
Lu Weibing, partner and president of Xiaomi Group, confirmed that the standard model will be released separately. Industry reports suggest a potential launch date in December, following the earlier debut of the Pro version.
The standard Xiaomi 18 is rumored to feature the Snapdragon 8 Elite Gen 6 processor, a 200MP sensor, and a 7200mAh battery. These specifications align with the series' focus on high-end hardware performance.
The Xiaomi 18 Pro, which launched recently, also utilizes the Snapdragon 8 Elite Gen 6 chip built on a 2nm process. It includes a 7000mAh battery, a 6.4-inch display with 4000 nits peak brightness, and a triple Leica camera system.
