The base model of the upcoming Xiaomi 18 smartphone, identified by model number M261DB, has successfully cleared wireless certification from the Chinese Ministry of Industry and Information Technology. This regulatory filing confirms that the standard version will be released separately from the Pro and Pro Max variants.
According to reports from XimiTime, the official launch of the standard Xiaomi 18 is expected to take place in December. This timeline suggests a release approximately three months after the debut of the high-end Pro series, aligning with previous statements from Xiaomi president Lu Weibing regarding the staggered rollout.
Technical specifications for the device include the Snapdragon 8 Elite Gen 6 chipset and a high-capacity 7200 mAh battery. Unlike the Pro models, the base version is not expected to feature a rear-mounted secondary display. The camera configuration may consist of a 200-megapixel primary sensor paired with a single additional lens.
