The taxi aggregator XCar has integrated 2GIS technologies into its mobile application to support its expansion into the Moscow and Moscow Region markets. The company implemented a suite of 2GIS API services to enhance navigation, mapping, and routing capabilities for both drivers and passengers.
The integration includes real-time trip visualization, traffic-aware routing, and a distance matrix calculation for efficient vehicle dispatching. Additionally, XCar utilized the 2GIS SDK to enable built-in navigation within its driver and client apps, eliminating the need for third-party services.
According to XCar founder Maxim Imeninnik, the technological upgrade was essential for maintaining service quality and meeting market expectations. The platform has now completed over 3 million trips, with the improved driver application serving as a key growth factor.
Maxim Shmakov from 2GIS noted that their API solutions allow taxi aggregators to optimize vehicle dispatch times and trip pricing. The 2GIS infrastructure supports various taxi, car-sharing, and delivery services both in Russia and internationally.
