Xbox executive Asha Sharma announced that the platform has returned to growth after a period of declining user engagement and revenue. The company plans to refocus on its console business as a core strategic pillar while continuing to support the existing Xbox Series X|S hardware.
The brand reported a 30% increase in positive sentiment over the past year. Recent game releases, including Gears of War: E-Day, Minecraft Dungeons 2, and World of Warcraft: The War Within, have shown strong initial performance. The company is also working to simplify the publishing process for developers across Xbox, PC, and the upcoming hardware.
The next-generation hardware, codenamed Helix, is being developed as a family of devices. This lineup will include a primary console and portable options for gaming on the go. Some of these devices will be manufactured internally by Xbox, while others will be produced in partnership with third parties.
Future initiatives include expanding cloud gaming, digital conversion programs for physical media, and the Xbox Play Anywhere service. Additionally, the company intends to introduce more flexible content options for the Xbox Game Pass subscription service and further integrate Battle.net.
