In October 2023, an entrepreneur signed a contract for IT equipment supply worth over 600,000 ₽, including a 500,000 ₽ state grant. The supplier, an entity with a high reliability rating from a bank compliance system, delivered goods worth only 15,000 ₽ before disappearing.
The entrepreneur suffered a total loss of nearly 1,000,000 ₽, covering the grant repayment and purchasing replacement equipment. Legal attempts to recover the funds through arbitration courts and bailiffs were unsuccessful.
A retrospective investigation revealed that the supplier, a transport company, had not filed financial reports for three years and had a minimal authorized capital of 10,000 ₽. The company's co-owner was linked to an IT firm facing over 5,000,000 ₽ in lawsuits.
The linked IT firm was eventually declared bankrupt with over 7,000,000 ₽ in tax debt. The supplier was liquidated by tax authorities, and the beneficiary was disqualified for three years. Automated systems failed to detect these risks due to isolated analysis.
