Wells Fargo has increased its price target for Meta Platforms stock to $1,000, up from the previous target of $796. This adjustment follows a prior increase in late September, when the target was raised from $640. The bank maintains an overweight rating on the stock, citing the potential of the Muse AI agent, which was released on September 8.
Since the launch of Muse, Meta shares have risen nearly 20%, significantly outperforming the S&P 500, which grew by 1.5% in the same period. The stock is currently up 11.94% for 2026, recovering from a 7% decline recorded on September 7. Analyst Ken Gawrelski views Muse as the beginning of a major product cycle, comparing its potential impact to the early adoption phase of Reels.
Despite the optimistic price target, Wells Fargo anticipates that earnings per share will reach a low point in 2027 before beginning a steady rise as AI product revenue is integrated. Other market analysts remain more conservative, with an average 12-month target of $806.13 based on data from 46 analysts. JPMorgan recently set its target at $920, while BMO Capital maintains a target of $580.
