The automotive testing platform Dongchedi recently conducted emergency brake tests on three Maextro V800 vehicles. During the 100 km/h to 0 km/h braking tests, the brake pedal bracket reportedly fractured, sparking significant public discussion.
Weibo CEO Wang Gaofei commented on the incident, noting that the core issue is whether there are any recorded accidents caused by the braking failure. He stated that if no accidents have occurred, the defect represents a risk rather than an immediate fatal danger.
Wang emphasized that consumer trust depends on how a manufacturer handles safety issues and how quickly they announce the identification of the problem and subsequent recalls. He clarified that the vehicle is manufactured by JAC, noting that Huawei provides technical support but does not oversee the production of brake pedal components.
Following the test results, JAC Motors shares hit the daily limit down. The company's investor relations department stated that all vehicles undergo quality control procedures before leaving the factory, and representatives confirmed they are currently monitoring the situation.
