Wabi, a startup previously focused on AI-driven app creation, has announced a transition to a messaging-based platform called Wabi 2.0. The company aims to compete with AI agents that integrate conversational interfaces with productivity tools.
Founder Eugenia Kuyda, who also created Replika, describes the new version as a personal agent that generates custom interfaces on demand. Users can interact with the agent to build specific tools, such as calorie trackers or shared family calendars, directly within the chat.
The platform is designed to combine text-based interaction with visual elements like scrolling and tapping. This approach addresses the limitations of chat-only agents where task history often becomes difficult to manage in a single, endless stream.
Wabi 2.0 is currently accessible only through invite codes, which are being distributed via the social media platform X. The company positions this update as an operating system for the agentic era, focusing on managing daily tasks and collaborative activities.
