British embodied AI startup Wayve has secured a partnership with CARIAD, the software division of Volkswagen Group. The company will provide autonomous driving software solutions, while CARIAD will handle the integration of this software with hardware developed jointly by Volkswagen and Bosch.

The collaboration follows a demonstration held by Volkswagen in a major southern German city, where Wayve outperformed more than ten other technology suppliers. Volkswagen selected the startup based on its technical capabilities and financial performance.

Wayve is expanding its presence in the automotive sector through similar agreements. The company has previously partnered with Mercedes-Benz to launch at least one autonomous vehicle model within the next two years and reached a final agreement with Nissan to integrate its technology into future ProPILOT driver assistance systems.
