Volkswagen has commenced series production of the ID. Cross electric SUV at its plant in Pamplona, Spain. The facility underwent significant upgrades to support the manufacturing of this new model alongside the Skoda Epiq. The vehicle is built on the MEB+ platform, sharing its technical foundation with the ID. Polo.

The model is available with two battery options: a 37 kWh lithium iron phosphate pack and a 52 kWh nickel-manganese-cobalt pack. The vehicle offers a WLTP range of up to 427 km. DC fast charging capabilities allow the 37 kWh battery to charge from 10% to 80% in approximately 23 minutes, while the 52 kWh version takes about 24 minutes.

The ID. Cross measures 4,161 mm in length and features 475 liters of storage space. The interior is equipped with a 10.25-inch instrument display and a 12.9-inch infotainment screen. Volkswagen also included a Retro Display mode designed to mimic the aesthetic of the first-generation Golf.

Pricing for the ID. Cross in Germany starts at €36 525. In mid-October, the company will introduce the entry-level Trend model with an 85 kW output, priced from €27 995. This launch is part of Volkswagen's broader strategy to compete with Tesla and Chinese manufacturers like BYD in the entry-level electric vehicle market.
