VK Tech has announced an update for its VK WorkSpace platform, introducing an AI Assistant and support for the Model Context Protocol (MCP). The new features aim to integrate AI tools into the corporate digital environment, allowing users to interact with the system using natural language while maintaining existing access control policies.
The AI Assistant is currently capable of analyzing Messenger correspondence to provide structured answers with references to original chats. This functionality is already available in the On-Premise version, with a release for the SaaS version scheduled for October 2026. Future updates will expand the assistant's context to include Mail, Disk, and Calendar data.
The platform's search functionality is being upgraded to support semantic search, enabling users to find information by describing topics or tasks rather than using exact keywords. Additionally, the Video Conferencing service will now automatically transcribe meetings, generate summaries, and extract key decisions and action items.
The integration of an MCP server allows AI agents to interact with platform services. Initially, this supports the Messenger service, with functionality for Mail, Disk, and Calendar expected by the end of 2026. The MCP server will be included in the VK WorkSpace On-Premise 26.3 release and the SaaS version in October.
