The Starlink Mobile satellite system has provided connectivity to over 11 million subscribers of the VEON group. The project covers three key markets: Ukraine, Kazakhstan, and Bangladesh.

The implementation utilizes Direct-to-Device technology, which enables standard LTE-compatible smartphones to connect directly to the satellite network. This eliminates the need for specialized satellite handsets.

Users gain the ability to send text messages, voice notes, and location data, as well as use SMS in remote areas lacking traditional terrestrial network coverage. This solution aims to improve connectivity in regions where building cell towers is challenging.

VEON is the first international telecommunications group to deploy Starlink Mobile across three distinct markets simultaneously. The integration is designed to enhance infrastructure resilience and expand mobile access in rapidly growing regions.
