The Vapor web framework has reached its ten-year milestone, marking the anniversary with a dedicated event series known as Vapor Week. To commemorate a decade of development, the team behind the project has officially released the first beta version of Vapor 5.

This major update represents a significant architectural overhaul. The developers have focused on eliminating six years of technical debt and introducing full support for structured concurrency. A key change in this release is the removal of EventLoopFutures.

Vapor 5 integrates the new Swift HTTP Server to handle core networking tasks. This shift allows the framework to leverage modern Swift capabilities while focusing on its primary goal of providing a robust environment for building server-side applications and APIs.

The project team has also updated its documentation, making it more accessible and localized for a global user base. Developers interested in the latest iteration of the framework are encouraged to test the beta version and provide feedback to the core team.
